UNDER OUR ROOF

The Roofsmith Report:

Northern Ohio Weather Recap:

Hey there neighbor! If you live anywhere in Northeast Ohio, you already know that our weather likes to keep us on our toes. May hit Ohioans hard! Just recently, our neighborhood shook off some major rain from the Memorial Day weekend. The storm may have passed, but in its wake, many of us were left with storm damage.

Record breaking hail hit Summit and Portage counties and two tornadoes touched down in Chesterland and Geauga County with estimated 100 MPH peak wind speeds! From sudden microbursts and blistering winds, to mid-May heatwaves we haven't seen for over 30 years!

When a severe front rolls through, storm damage can happen in the blink of an eye. Shingles lift, siding cracks, gutters pull away from the roofline, and window seals fail. The trickiest part about this kind of destruction is that it loves to play the long game. A small problem today can easily turn into a massive, expensive mold or structural issue six months down the road.

The good news is, you don't have to navigate the aftermath of a stressful storm alone. If you suspect your home took a hit, lets get it sorted out together! Living in Ohio means dealing with some truly unpredictable seasons. Your roof is your home’s primary shield against the elements, making it the most vulnerable target when bad weather strikes. When evaluating your roof after a weather event, we typically look for two major culprits:

wind and hail.

Windows and Gutters: The Unsung Heroes of Protection

Your windows and gutters work around the clock to keep water moving away from your living space. When storm damage compromises these systems, the interior of your home is suddenly at risk.

Were Here to Help You Restore Your Home!

Think of us as your local neighborhood experts who happen to know everything there is to know about keeping a roof over your head. We pride ourselves on transparent communication, top-tier craftsmanship, and treating your home exactly like we would treat our own.

What to Expect When You're Expecting... Us

After scheduling your free inspection and estimate in the office, your PM, (Project Manager) will receive the inspection request. If opted in, your PM will reach out to personally confirm the appointment and introduce themselves. During the inspection, the project manager will first capture a 3D model of the roof with our cutting edge technology.

They will inspect all overhangs as they complete the perimeter walk around. The PM will then climb on the roof and complete a full wellness check on the exterior of the home. If any damage is found, they will capture a photograph for you to review. If accessible, we also recommend a quick peek in the attic to ensure all decking and insulation is looking good!

About 24 hours after the inspection, the PM will send over a proposal for repairs or replacement if applicable. You are then able to review all of our findings and if necessary, reach out to your home insurance.

A Quick Professional Inspection Saves You Money and Time

It may be incredibly tempting to climb up on a ladder yourself to inspect the roof, but we highly discourage it. Roofs are incredibly slick after a storm, and unless you know exactly what to look for, subtle hail bruising is almost impossible to spot with an untrained eye!
